OCTOBER 06 - TWO IN ONE VALLEY
Stockholding
of valley troughs is halved with Glidevale’s Univalley
125 system.
Unlike competitor valley troughs, which traditionally
suit either slates or tiles and therefore require stocking
of two different products, Glidevale’s Univalley
125 can be used with both slate and tile, with roofs
of varying pitches, and can be dry- or wet-fixed with
all natural slates, concrete and clay tiles.
Manufactured from AB fire rated GRP, Univalley 125 has
been purpose-designed to give a 125mm clear water channel
to ensure optimum performance and secure protection against
water ingress, to LSA and Brunel University requirements.
An innovative gel coating provides increased durability.
Available in 3m lengths as standard, the system can be
easily cut to size on site. It includes an integral mortar
retention check to prevent slippage during fixing and
to provide a secondary weather barrier against rain penetration,
and a 25mm vertical weather check which simultaneously
provides a fast fix to the valley batten. Resin bonded
wide mortar grips ensure maximum adhesion when wet fixing.
Univalley 125’s integral water slew prevention
bar has been tested to enhance water discharge, allowing
use with roofs of up to 10° pitch variation.
Nick Beswick, Glidevale national sales director, comments, “The
Univalley 125 gives advantages of both economy and performance
over valley tiles and lead valleys. One product does
the job of several, reducing merchant stockholding, and
simplifying installation and reducing wastage for his
customer.”
