NOVEMBER 05 - CUT THE RISK OF FIRE
How safe is your roof? Building Regulation Part B requires
that roofs, or part of a roof, are fire rated, as
roof coverings play a key role in preventing the
spread of fire from one property to another simply
by being non combustible. But what about roof terminals
and ventilators- as they form part of the roof it
follows that they too should have a suitable fire rating.
Glidevale, the UK's leading supplier of roofing accessories,
has produced a dramatic CD showing how a roof can be
ignited and spread fire, unless proper precautions are
taken. The CD outlines the requirements of Building Regulation
Part B, and shows roof ventilators being fire tested.
Glidevale supplies the only complete range slate and
tile ventilators that are AA fire rated, enabling unrestricted
use on any roof regardless of the proximity of neighbouring
property.
Manufactured from fire retardant ABS and VO rated polypropylene,
the ventilators achieve an AA rating when independently
fire tested to BS476 Part 3 1958. Glidevale can provide
detailed and comprehensive schedules of roof ventilation
products and accessories for specific projects, designed
to meet or exceed the relevant requirements, with the
ventilation designs covered by a 15 year, insurance backed
design and product warranty.

Performance CD are available free on request from this page,
